Aruba Expedition Via Horseback – What’s Better?

Author: Bluegreen

Picturesque white sand beaches only surpassed in beauty by the immaculate aquamarine waters of the Caribbean Sea. This is the scene off the northwest coast of Aruba where Malmok Beach is located, and also where visitors can peacefully tour the beaches while on horseback at many of the vacation resorts!

What could be a better family activity then taking a guided horseback tour off the calm waters of Malmok Beach in Aruba? Everyone will have memories that they can look back on fondly for the rest of their lives. Most Aruba hotels and resorts around the area north of the capital of Oranjestad can easily arrange this adventure!

Even local companies like Aruba Tours offer this incredible excursion with well-maintained horses that love the stroll even more than the guests. In addition to the cared for horses, the tour guides themselves are extremely knowledgeable and usually know various languages in order to be able to offer their guided tours to all foreign visitors!

At Malmok Beach, scenery and landscape is second to none as you gaze out into the deep blue ocean, or the beautifully contrasted picture of the harsh rocky shore against the still clear blue ocean. The only thing that could be better than taking a ride along the coast is having a picnic at the end to complete your time on the magnificent beach!

For those that prefer a little more action and physical exertion, the guided tours offer the opportunity to jump off the horses and into the gorgeous waters for snorkeling enthusiasts. On a tropical island like Aruba, it would be a travesty to not experience the uniqueness of the Caribbean’s marine life. It would be next to impossible to overlook the colorful tropical fish that are in abundance in the area!

While the tropical fish amaze you in the water, the tropical birds along the hillside will stun you with their inspiring tunes as your tour takes you to Aruba’s hillside where all kinds of wildlife and farm animals roam free. Iguanas, goats, donkeys, and wild rabbits are just a few of the natural wildlife animals in Aruba that you can come across while exploring the land.

Although everyone is encouraged to take the tour, the policy discourages riders under two years old and requires that children under the age of seven ride along with an adult, as long as the weight limit does not exceed 230 pounds for the safety of the horses. To err on the side of caution, excursions must be booked 48 hours in advance and do include transportation to and from the resort. In addition, while the tours are offered year round, they do close on December 24, 25, 31, and January 1st.

If seeking a more intimate setting, private tours are always an option with helmets and a refreshment provided, although it is advisable to bring your own waist-strapped water bottle! As for packing before you leave your Aruba resort for the tour, it is best to have long pants, sneakers, a hat, and sunscreen for an optimal experience! Polarized sunglasses, which can be purchased at most drug stores for fewer than twenty dollars, will also come in handy for a clear view of the water and hillside.

Spending money would also be a great tool to carry along as souvenir shops and shopping spots are located in various areas along the tour path. But whether you choose to take mementos with you or not one thing is for sure, the scenery and trip that you’ll experience on your adventure vacation in Aruba will create memories that will last a lifetime!
